Cranbrook Hill Bed and Breakfast recently joined the Good Food Box program!
On the 1st Friday of the month, you pay $15.00 at your pickup station. ( Ours is the health unit). On the 3rd Wednesday, you pick up your box of fresh, local produce!
This month the box included: 3 pounds of Caribou Grower potatoes, 1 HUGE head of Caribou Grower broccoli, 1 huge Caribou Grower garlic bulb, 1 Caribou Grower lettuce, 1 bag of P & R Organics cauliflower, 1 bunch of P & R kale, 1 bunch of P & R onions, 1 Ness Lake Zucchini, 1 MASSIVE ( we’re talking the biggest I’ve ever seen) Tutte Farm green cabbage and 1 lb of DLK Prairie Investor cornmeal.
The newsletter comes with some tasty recipes!
I made the Raspberry Cornmeal muffins ( From How It All Vegan) – they were delicious!!! and I have a batch of Zucchini muffins in the oven. I will post the recipes later.
Looking forward to making Kale chips. They are a quick and addictive snack!
I also made broccoli cheddar soup which was fantasic and used my onions in my french onion soup.
Did I mention that I only picked up my box yesterday?? The produce looks so wonderful that I couldn’t wait to use it!!!
